Local Events Spotlight: Melody Baumhover Talks Circus Fundraiser for Carousel of Happiness, Miles Wade Interviews Teamworks at Teens Inc., and Other Events!

Circus Foundry: Carnival games and concessions will be set up around Chipeta Park for this second annual family-friendly fundraising event hosted by The Carousel of Happiness on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  A family-friendly show begins at 1 p.m. and an afternoon show at 4 p.m. To purchase tickets, email info@carouselofhappiness.org, call 303-258-3457, or head to https://carouselofhappiness.org/circus-fundraiser/.

The Lincoln Hills Cares and TEENS, Inc. TeamWorks program organizes crews of youth from a rural environment, like Nederland or Idaho Springs, and crews from an urban environment, like Denver or Aurora, and puts them together as a full team to work on various projects centered on nature conservation, like fire mitigation, weeding, planting and building new trails.

“This is my third year and I love it,” Sumehra Alexander, an 18-year-old senior from Aurora told The Mountain-Ear. “I just like meeting new people every year, and I don’t really get to experience nature all that much since I live in the city.”

Plus, learn about the Nederdays celebration of the 150th anniversary of Nederland and the second of four 4th Friday Art Walks this year!
